Back in the "scraddle" again...

Yep, it's my own word, "Scraddle" :-)  It's a combination of saddle and scrappin'!  Get it? No?  Oh well, I thought it was clever.  I'm only working on 1/2 a cup of coffee this morning, so give me time.

Anyhoo...God has been working on my heart lately, wanting me to simplify some things in my life, get back to the important parts of it, like my family and studying His word.  One of the things He convicted me of a couple of weeks ago was to let go of my digital designing.  It hasn't made much money, but even besides that, I realized I haven't scrapbooked a page for my own family in almost 5 months, maybe even more.  And I miss it.  That's the whole reason I took up digital scrapbooking in the first place (poor SP only had 2 pages and he's almost 10 months old!)...then the designer bug took over...but it has departed!  So I signed back up at my favorite scrapbooking website/forum (Hummie's World) to get back into making pages and learning techniques for making fun layouts :-)  Thankfully she accepted me back with open arms (virtually speaking, of course!).

(And in case you are wondering...no I haven't simplified a lot yet, but I'm working on it...or rather God is...and I get the memos...we have cut the phone bills some and decreased Netflix to just streaming service and I am now only on the computer for school, scrapping and other fun...and to blog of course! Oh...and I've cleaned up my sCrap room upstairs so I can have a big craft sale with Batgirl and a few other friends in March...decluttering!!)  Now if I can just tear myself away from my phone more, that's my next goal.

So, here are 5 layouts I have completed over the last 2 weeks!
Couldn't believe I had a picture of each grandkid looking down as they opened a gift...fun!

Just a neat lesson reminding you that cutting up the photos in certain ways can really make them "pop" or show up even more than just using one photo.

Ok, this one really isn't a scrapbook page but can you see the difference in the two photos?  I was learning to use the levels in my photoshop program...it's a picture mom or dad took of a butterfly from Dad's gardens, but I was able to brighten up the original some, pretty cool!

This was a cool, easy lesson...I learned how to take a title ("3 Day" in this layout) and back it with the same color/paper as the paper behind it then let it "drape" over the picture as well so it looks like the letters are cut out of the background paper and framing the photo a bit.  Loved this idea!

For this lesson, I was reminded of the different ways you can change the colors of photos and also highlight just parts of them to bring out one color or two, etc...
