Enjoying the afternoon

You know, home schooling, while yes...you get to stay at home, can still be very stressful on both parent and child and time.  However, having a one year old in the house has been reminding me lately to relax and just enjoy the time I have with my boys.  Yes, we are still getting school done, but on our own more enjoyable schedule, which can change hour by hour depending on the one year old ;-)
Sunday afternoon was one of those afternoons when we just wanted to enjoy family.  J wanted to help his dad "peel poles".  You see, T has been working on fixing our stair banister.
The gaps were too wide for Jonah to be upstairs so we decided to use cedar posts as fillers making it look rustic and also dress up the banister a bit.  In order to get them smooth, they have to be peeled.  An easy job and T pays J $2 for each pole he peels.
While they peeled, SP and I enjoyed the hour and a half outside with them.  He just walked all around the porch and yard close to the house, enjoying Bullet and playing with the peelings from the posts.  I read my kindle a bit and listened to the sweet sounds coming from SP and the manly conversations between T and J ;-)

Such a great, relaxing afternoon.

Sounds wonderful. Those days of a little one in the house are long gone for me, but I remember homeschooling with quite a few on my lap. :)
