My husband has developed a little problem...he keeps finding broken tractors and bringing them to the barn to live. He says they are projects for he and the boys to work on together. He says they are great deals. He says I should be thankful its not a gambling addiction or worse. yup.
Back to renovation fun!
We have a RAMP! Our contractor got busy pretty quickly on the 16ft deck we wanted on the back of the house, complete with a ramp.
This will give J access to all three doors that lead you into the house.
The front door is level, but the back two were raised up and had stairs leading to them. And the back is where we will enter 99% of the time, as well as guests probably also.
Concrete going in for the base of the ramp
We also had the concrete footing poured for the new chimney which will be in place of this large window.
We've also never really had a deck so it's been pretty fun watching it go in and knowing we can sit and enjoy our view anytime.
Talk about a difference! This picture is what the back of home looked like when we purchased it:
We are still sad we had to cut down this giant tree, but it would have been a bit of a bummer if it fell on the house.
This is what it looks like now...and it's still not done. Such a change!
We wanted a simple deck with simple railings and they nailed it.
View from across the pond...
One of my favorite things is coming up soon in the blog posts...but here's a sneak peek. This window is from the First Baptist Church in Lufkin, before they demo'd the old children's wing and chapel last summer.
And it's going in my house!!! So excited :-)
