As some of you know, J, who used to love swimming and was pretty good at it without help, had a BIG setback after a scout event last fall. So this summer we have been basically starting over with him. I am proud to say that after a crash course with our trusted swim teacher Miss Jessica, he is back to floating and swimming. Now if the pool is deeper than 3 feet, he wants someone to have a hand under his belly (although you aren't really holding him up) but in less than 3 feet he goes at it on his own. It's a wonderful sight, after almost a year of frustration on our part and fear on his. We have faith he will regain that over 3 feet confidence again :)

So our at-home PE lately has been swimming and learning to use the punching bag and weight machine with Dad :) As part of one of his Webelo badges, we have figured out an adaptive way for J to do chin-ups and push-ups also...in the pool! We use the steps and the side of the pool at Miss Jessica's pool and the ladder in our pool. J has also decided to walk with me some when it cools off a bit to help me raise money for the 3Day!!
