Today (Aug. 20) marks 2 years since our incredible, funny, witty, crazy friend Chuck passed away. Many of you might remember hearing about him through e-mails while he was in the hospital...lots of prayers going around then for he and his lovely wife Jan.
Atleast once a week, while doing my laundry, I think to myself "It's LAAAUUUUNNNNDRY Day" exactly as Chuck (along with his ever-present pals Tod & Chris) would say it every summer (Tuesdays were always laundry day for counselors). Actually makes laundry a little more tolerable :) I remember the first time J met Chuck and he was simply enchanted with him, as all kids were. J thought he was hilarious and talked about him for months after meeting him (which is a huge compliment b/c my boy sadly has his dad's memory...90% of the time he can't remember names and faces until we remind him who someone is!) I loved the way Chuck would hold your arm or hand when he walked with you, no matter who you were...adult, kid...didn't matter. And while he probably wanted to forget it...I never hear "Rainbow Connection" without warmly thinking of Chuck. Most importantly, I remember how much Chuck loved Jan, even before she realized she loved him.
If you have a chance, I would be so grateful if you could drop by Jan's blog (JustJan) and just give her a blogger "hug" with words. God has blessed her, but it's not been an easy road to travel. She is absolutely, without a doubt, one of the most amazing and inspiring women I know and I am so thankful to be even a small part of her life. And if you don't know their story, read back on her blog, she's a wonderful writer.

Nope, not remarkable, just remembering along with so many others whom Chuck had a huge impact upon...and whom Jan still does :)
